We Are Deferential to Forensic Examiners in Our Capacity as Attorneys for Fathers

Most child’s attorneys are exceedingly happy when a forensic examiner is involved in a case where there are issues where you have child abuse and that’s because lawyers are afraid of influencing children. Like children’s attorneys are usually afraid of influencing their client.
They really want to argue the express interest of their child clients and so having this layer of a psychological person there who’s trained in this specific capacity is better. I mean I don’t know if you’ve seen law or seen an attorney in court but we’re good at asking questions but not the way that you would want your child treated if this was a situation with a lot of trauma.
So we are deferential to forensic examiners as well in our capacity as attorneys for fathers. We also have issues with forensic examiners and the reliability of some of what comes out. Parental alienation and sort of feeding kids lines will come out in the forensic examination with that forensic examiner as well and forensic examiners cannot just know that this is being fed to them.
There are ways that they can sort of figure it out and that’s part of their job but there is some risk associated with a forensic examiner if your child is being told to say things because the examiner is going to hear that.
