Understanding Summer Visitation
Hey, I’m Oklahoma Dads’ Lawyer Heath Davis. With summer coming up, I wanted to touch base on what visitation looks like in the summer. Most courts in Oklahoma have a holiday schedule. This includes things like Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, and of course, summer visitation.
In most counties in Oklahoma, summer visitation is a 50-50 visitation schedule. Some people do it on a, one parent has the children the month of June, the other parent has them the month of July. Some people do a week on week off. That’s what the typical schedule is in most counties.
Summer Visitation Schedule
So summer visitation is definitely an increase in time if you have every other weekend or you have less than 50-50 on a yearly basis. Thanksgiving visitation, Christmas visitation, spring break, those are typically alternated. Those can be split in multiple ways. But with summer coming up, I just wanted to give you that information.
Most courts do allow for a true 50-50 split. That’s a good test exercise to see if 50-50 works and if it’s something that’s beneficial for your kids. Visit us at tulsafathersrights.lawyer for more information or if you need to speak with an attorney.
