Parenting Coordinator Can Provide Major Benefits
Video Transcribed: Hello, I am Kieth Flinn, I am a father’s rights attorney in Tulsa. The best evidence that the parenting coordinators provide is evidence of who is at fault for the biggest and most important disputes, and then who is, from a psychological and relationship standpoint, preventing an ability to co-parent.
And if the parent, if the other co-parent is preventing you from being a part of the kid’s life, the parenting coordinator is going to see that, right? I mean, that’s going to be obvious, and they’re going to testify that, “Hey, this person, the way they communicate, the way they act without communicating, is the reason that they’re having this conflict over legal custody,” which when we’re talking about a co-parent or a parenting coordinator, we’re talking about somebody who’s going to steer the two of them to make decisions together. We’re talking about custody, legal custody. We’re not really talking about visitation.
The judge can order a visitation, and if it’s not being followed, there are statutory remedies, right? But the judge can’t be there to police every decision that co-parents have to make together.
Now, with a parenting coordinator in there, there’s somebody there in the middle who’s actually involved in this joint decision-making, and seeing where it’s being stopped, why it’s not happening smoothly, or which parent is not actually acting in the best interest of their kid, but rather just making a position for the sake of it because of the conflict or for whatever reason.
