The Answer Is Not Necessarily
Video Transcribed: Hi, I’m a fathers’ rights lawyer in Tulsa, and I’m here talking about fatherhood and father’s rights. We do get a lot of questions in here about father’s rights, and one of them includes if I’m paying child support, do I get visitation rights in Oklahoma?
The answer is not necessarily. You do get visitation rights if a court has established your physical custody rights. You do not, even if a DHS administrative proceeding has ordered child support if you do not have physical custody rights established by the district court.
So while you may think you’ve gone to court in a DHS administrative proceeding, and now pay child support, you may not have the right to visitation with your child. If you’ve got a question about whether or not you have physical custody visitation rights to your child, then you can give us a call.
