This Is Determined by the Court
Video Transcribed: Hi, I’m a father’s rights attorney in Tulsa. And I’m here talking about fatherhood and father’s rights.
We get a lot of questions in here. One of them being, who gets to claim the child on taxes? Now that is something that could be determined by a court and often is in a divorce or a paternity case.
Now, if there’s more than one child, it’s not unusual for parents to take one and another, take another for purposes of filing their taxes and having a dependent on there.
But this is something that can be litigated and used as a tool to either get you more time with your kid or get you more money and the ability to pay.
So if you’ve got a question about whether or not you can or should be receiving a credit on your taxes for a dependent child, you need to give us a call.
