Child Support Is Always Modifiable
Video Transcribed: Hi, I’m your Oklahoma fathers’ rights lawyer, and I’m here talking about fatherhood and fathers’ rights. We get a lot of questions about fathers’ rights, and specifically, one of them is, how long do fathers have to pay child support?
Now, that’s a very complicated issue because child support is always modifiable. And if physical custody changes throughout the course of the child’s life, that means that the father may receive more or less physical overnights with the child.
It could affect whether or not the father is paying child support. Statutorily speaking, child support does end when the child turns the age of majority or graduates from high school, whichever comes later up to a certain age, which is 19 years old.
So how long you will pay child support depends on a few factors, and it could include whether or not you’re receiving more time with your kid. So if you’ve got a question about child support, how long you’ve got to pay, or any other question, give us a call. If you are looking for the best divorce attorney for a man visit dads.law.
