You Have Very Little Rights to That Child Inside of That Pregnancy Period
Video Transcribed: Hi, I’m I am a child custody lawyer in Tulsa, OK. I am here to answer questions about fatherhood and father’s rights in Tulsa. Today I want to talk a little bit about a father’s rights during pregnancy. We get a lot of questions about what rights a father has to their child during pregnancy.
Well, really, even in a marriage, you have very little rights to that child inside of that pregnancy period. And that’s because there’s been a constitutional finding that women have a right to privacy over their own bodies up until a certain point at which point the child is determined to be old enough inside of the womb to have its own rights.
And those are the only rights from which a father might advance their own interests in that child during the pregnancy. So, to put it short, unfortunately during a pregnancy fathers have little to no opportunity for rights to that child.
