Mediator Are a Neutral Third Party
Video Transcribed: I am a Tulsa father’s rights attorney. Mediators in Oklahoma are another interesting one that frankly, in our part of the world, is dominated by experienced lawyers.
But in other parts of the country, you’ve got more actual professional mediator types who are more transformative than what a lawyer is usually interested in. And so you can find mediators out there, even in Oklahoma, who are going to be approaching this more about interests and feelings and trying to establish a joint custody plan built on how you two feel.
Whereas you’ve got mediators, who are attorneys, who are like, “Well, this is the brass tacks. This is how much this costs. This is what your position looks like in front of a judge. This is what they want, this is what you want and let’s come down to a pragmatic solution as quickly as we can.”
The role of the mediator is a neutral third party. They are confidential. They’re supposed to be completely neutral. In practice, they are, usually. I haven’t had any issues with mediators not being neutral. If you are looking for a Tulsa Child Custody Attorney for Men, contact me today.
